This deck of cards is intended to help couples during any state of their marriage. From the couples who are newly married, to the couples who are seasoned and have been married for decades.
Reform, Rekindle and Reconnect that spark through meaningful conversation and connection.
What makes this deck of cards different from others, is that it was thoughtfully curated with the most common topics, issues and questions that Natasha had addressed with couples for over eight years while doing marital therapy.
The most common question Natasha received from Muslim couples was, "Do you have any Islamic marital resources for us?" After constantly being on the search for an innovative product that could help connect muslim couples interact with each other through not only research based marital concepts, but also help them root back to their Deen with Islamic based principles, Natasha knew she had to create something not only for her Muslim clients but for all Muslim couples. Natasha didn't want to write a book, or only send videos/lectures to her couples, she wanted something that was interactive and something that couples can reach for after a long day at work or on the weekend when they want to connect and spend quality time together. Thus making a card deck is a resource that Is accessible which can be used on a daily or weekly basis.
The rate of Divorce is climbing steadily and hastly in Muslim communities today. Muslim couples continue to have a lack of resources that help them connect with their spouse through relevant topics.
Some Research based marital excercises and theories Included in the cards are based on concepts from Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), The Gottman Institute, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, Inner child theory and Psychoanalytic theory.
The Islamic Principles are based on discussing the different versions of the Qalb (heart), the Nafs, Ayahs from the Quran discussing marriage, Duas for a Muslim couple to recite daily, Prophetic sunnah traditions on how the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) treated his wives, as well as spiritual challenges to bring a couple closer to their Deen together.
About The Therapist

This deck was thoughtfully created by Natasha Haroon Bandukda, who has her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor with her own practice, Attitude For gratitude, LLC. Through her experience of working with Muslim couples, Natasha noticed a unique trend throughout all marriages, cultures, and generations. Many of the couples she worked with needed help with vulnerability, communication, addressing Islamic responsibilities, empathy, an understanding of their spouse’s needs and a deeper level of self-reflection. Due to the lack of accessible resources for Muslim couples, Qalb to Qalb was invented.
